Deflask

INSTRUCTION TO DEFLASK:

You can keep the flasks closed up to two months, or you can deflask them right now since plants are ready to come to the outside world. If your temperature is above 70ºF then you can deflask seedlings now. If you do it later, it may be too warm for the babies.

Then place community pot under the same conditions of adult plants but higher ventilation and keep aware of watering techniques, as explained below..

For deflasking, you have to cut the bags and wash seedlings to get all agar out from plants. Then spray some low concentration fungicide and immediately pot the plants in a plastic pot and use as medium little pieces of bark mixed with sphagnum, in a proportion BARK: 70% + SPHAGNUM 20% and gross SAND or LITTLE ROCKS 10%. Pot the plants before they get dry.

Our best advice for you is about watering: Keep plants well ventilated and under good environmental humidity, and water only the medium once a day for the first month, and avoid watering the leaves unless you spray the water mixed with fungicide. You have to keep applying this solution for the first three months, diminishing applications as plant become healthier.

Watering only the medium will provide humidity to the roots, you need to get roots growing the fastest. So, if you can apply any root promoter like Root one or Super Thrive, one drop per gallon of water, then plants will appreciate your concern.

In any case, keep the bag in the upright position, very well ventilated and under few light and fresh room temperature until you deflask. Watch for any fungi attack (in case the bags are broken) and you will even be able to watch how roots develope inside the flasks. Plants are inside the flasks for the last two weeks so the white tips are sign that roots keep growing.

Hope you find useful information from us, and hope you succeed with the plants. Please let me know if you need further support.
