Was this a paph seed pod?

So the first bud on my Paph Golddollar was a bit abused and it seemed like the bloom fell off fairly early (however, I have no idea when it actually bloomed) and I noticed something that looked like a seed pod. I went in to check on it today, and it looks like this.
I'm guessing that the pod is no longer viable. Am I right in thinking that a paph bloom can't pollinate itself though, or would that be possible in the case of hybrids?
