The top-selling shoe on the market in 2016 didn’t come with any revolutionary technology. It wasn’t part of a collaboration with Drake, Rihanna, Kanye West or the many other celebrities and artists putting their stamp on footwear these days. And it definitely wasn’t something new.It was the , a streetwear staple known for its three stripes and iconic shell toe that dates back to 1969. It doesn’t come with a hefty price tag, so you’ll find the Superstar on the feet of toddlers, teens, millennials, and the older crowd that might even remember when legendary rap group Run-DMC wore them unlaced back in the late 1980s.
adidas is taking the classic and stripping it down leaving it only with the bare essentials.Taking the “Decon” look that has recently been spotted on the Air Jordan 2, this iteration of the adidas Superstar 80s comes constructed out of a one-piece leather on the upper for a clean aesthetic. Adding to the clean look of the sneaker is laser etching on the shell toe and the three stripes branding on the side panels. The two color options include Running White and Core Black with both of them being finished off with off-white rubber soles and brown detailing on the tongue branding and heel tab.
One way to instantly turn a shoe into a summer style is to deconstruct it, or pare it down to the most minimal of elements. Adidas has decided that the Superstar 80s is the perfect pair to pare down with this great new style. The adidas Superstar 80s Decon gets a full leather build in two colorways with laser etched detailing. They come in either black or white, and the lone contrasting tone is the tan left from the laser burning away the leather elements. Even the shell is done in leather, which abandons the typical rubber toe that we are accustomed to.The Decon will be available at select Adidas retailers soon.
The allure of a fresh pair of shell toes will never fade, and adidas is still offering up styles that will keep them on Christmas wish lists. The latest look is one that uses color and texture in some of the most interesting ways that we’ve seen in a while. The seen here is decked out in a color known as vapor steel and it’s mellow tone is hyped up a bit thanks to the fabric it’s used on. Suede snakeskin brings the blueish hue to life, while white leather accents add some contrast to the mix as well. Gold foil branding outlined in black finds its way to the tongue for a pop of color to finish things off.Statistics: Posted by dianer — Thu Jun 29, 2017 3:54 am
